The third annual ART CHILD festival, will be taking place on Sunday, January 26, 2014. ART CHILD is a one day free event filled with workshops, performances and on-going activities in every sector of the arts. Kids of all ages can get a chance to participate in classes that are no-longer offered or no-longer financially available to them. This event gives children a taste of the arts and a chance to express their talents and discover new ones. Last year we were proud to offer such workshops as jazz dance, film, Dj-ing, painting, card making, and hair design. As well as host a full scale youth fashion show with live performances and singing artists showcasing their talents. Our attendance was double our expectation and has given us high hopes for an even greater event in 2014! This year we are looking to invite local individuals and organizations, such as yourself, to attend and contribute to the event. There are many new programs this year for people to get involved in including an awards ceremony for local young artists, a youth panel on the arts and an even bigger show for the end of the night. This year’s fashion show will be hosted by Marilou from Twenty York St and Yannick Beauvalet from L’Hexagone and will include a live performance by local artist’s The Joynt and Maya Mayne performing the ART CHILD2014 theme song, ‘What I Do’. This song was inspired by talks at local Ottawa schools about bullying and being positive.
