The second installment of the OBL Hip Hop Beat Battle took place at Ritual Nightclub with headlining act, Roc-a-Fella recording artist FREEWAY and other featured acts that included Ottawa rappers City Fidelia, SawBuck as well as a special live beat performance by Qualified Pros (CIRCA Beatz and DJ So Nice) all performed amazing sets.
Returning OBL champion Jeepz was defending his title that night against seven talented upcoming producers that included Hypo Productionz, Andrew Nast, Prophet-One, Klever Beats, Goldstripes, Sean Blake and Rocc B. In the end, returning champion Jeepz came on top for the second time around and took the trophy home, with runners up Sean Blake took second place and Hypo taking third.
Hitting the stage with his new track “Tolerated” which features Waka Flocka Flame off his new EP “Broken Ankles” with Girl Talk, Freeway stepped on the stage and had the crowd fired with the tone of his music. Taking it back to 2005, he showed tribute to Lil’ Kim on stage by performing her song “Lighters Up” which can be seen in the video. Also along tour with Freeway was Toronto native K Sizzle. The two artist collaborated on K Sizzle’s track “Push It To The Limit” and came out with a remix which was performed on stage. The track has not been released yet.
