Chinx killed in Queens, NY, celebrities pay homage to upcoming rapper (News)

The hiphop community took a loss over the weekend. As an upcoming rappers life was cut short. Lionel Pickens, known by the stage name Chinx, was shot and killed in Queens, NY on Sunday, May 17th. According to the NYPD, Pickens had performed at around 2:30 a.m. at Club Red Wolf in Brooklyn, and was headed back to Queen’s with friend, Coke Boy Yemen Cheese when the pair had tried to go to a nearby hookah bar, which was closed, cops said.

As Mr. Pickens pulled up to a red light in his silver, late-model Porsche on Queens Boulevard, a Mercedes Benz witnesses say, pulled alongside. Without any realization, shots began ringing through the half-open driver’s side window at close enough range that detectives later found a 9-millimetre shell casing inside the Porsche on the front seat.

Mr. Pickens, 31, was struck at least eight times, and possibly many more, before he managed to pull his car to the curb in front of a Dunkin’ Donuts as the other car sped away.
